Ciryl Gane's Early Life and Career
Ciryl Gane started his combat sports journey after his former classmate introduced him to Muay Thai during a work-study program. After the interaction, Gane started practicing Muay Thai and debuted professionally in 2014 at Show Thai 10 against Cyril Omhari. He won the fight via first-round KO and proceeded to win his next 4 Muay Thai fights before getting a title against Imed Soussi for the AFMT Muay Thai National Title. Ciryl TKO'ed in the third round to claim the championship.
Gane won his next four fights in Muay Thai and amassed a perfect record of 13-0 before transitioning to MMA in 2018. He made his professional MMA debut at TKO Fight Night 1 against Bobby Sullivan for the vacant TKO Heavyweight Championship. Gane made quick work of Sullivan and submitted him in the first round via front choke. Gane defended his title twice against Adam Dyczka and Roggers Souza before leaving the promotion to join the UFC in 2019.

Ciryl Gane made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Shevchenko vs. Carmouche against Raphael Pessoa on August 10, 2019. Gane outclassed Pessoa to gain a submission victory in the first round. He next fought Don'Tale Mayes and defeated him in the third round via heel hook submission to earn his first Performance of the Night bonus.
Ciryl Gane won his next four fights in the promotion against Tanner Boser, Junior dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozenstruik ,and Alexander Volkov. Due to his dominating win streak, Gane got a fight against Derrick Lewis for the interim UFC heavyweight championship on August 7, 2021, at UFC 265. Gane used his Muay Thai skills to outstrike Lewis and TKO'ed him in the third round to clinch the title.
Ciry Gane received an opportunity at the undisputed title at UFC 270 on January 22, 2022, against Francis Ngannou. Ciryl failed to capitalize the opportunity and unify the title and lost the fight by a unanimous decision. He bounced back in his next fight against Tai Tuivasa at UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Tuivasa on September 3, 2022. Gane knocked out Tuivasa in the first round to secure a victory. He got another opportunity to fight for the vacant heavyweight title against Jon Jones at UFC 285 on March 4, 2023. Jones defeated him by a first-round submission.
