Team Lakay is home to multiple champions already. And now, Joshua Pacio and Stephen Loman are on deck. Both teammates have big fights coming up, and the added pressure is helping them evolve in the gym.

Loman gave an update on how his and Pacio’s training is going in an interview with ONE Championship:

"He’s [Pacio] just on a different level right now, I think fans will be surprised. We’ve been working pretty hard together in intense sparring sessions. He and I are both sharp. I’m excited to see how he performs. He has certainly helped me a lot with my camp. I have no doubt we will both win our fights."

Joshua Pacio is the reigning ONE strawweight world champion, and he’ll fight American Jarred Brooks on December 3 at ONE 164. The card takes place in Manila, Phillipines. Neither Brooks or Pacio have lost in nearly four years, making this one of the best world title fights in the organization.

Stephen Loman will be fighting former bantamweight world champion Bibiano Fernandes at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18. Fernandes is coming off a championship loss to John Lineker, while Loman is on a ten-fight win streak and has looked superb in his first two ONE Championship fights.

Joshua Pacio’s teammate gives prediction for his fight against Brooks

Another member of Team Lakay, Eduard Folayang, gave his thoughts in an interview with ONE Championship on the upcoming strawweight title clash. Folayeng has faith in his teammate and even predicted the method and round of Joshua Pacio's victory:

"We’ve heard this before that us fighters from Team Lakay don’t know anything when it comes to fighting on the ground, and that’s really not true. If Joshua predicts what Jarred will do, then I know that Joshua will use that to his advantage...He is a very smart fighter. My prediction is that Joshua will knock Jarred Brooks out, maybe in the fourth round."

Brooks is an accomplished wrestler and has won all three of his fights in ONE. Most recently, he choked out previously undefeated Bokang Masunyane in the first round at ONE 156.

Joshua Pacio has nine wins by submission, validating Folayang’s claim to the ground game of Team Lakay fighters. The fight against Brooks will mark his fourth title defense.
