Khamzat Chimaev has called out Colby Covington several times, however, a bout between the two never materialized. 'Chaos' recently denied that he was ever offered the opportunity to face 'Borz', however, the No.3-ranked welterweight claims that he is lying.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the undefeated welterweight stated:

"Colby is lying. He doesn't want to fight. I swear with everything I have. I swear with the Gods. I accept the fight four times. All the Muslims understand, I swear to Quran. I get four times call, 'you want to fight?' I said yes. I have conversations with Sean Shelby that show it as well that we're going to fight with this guy, but it never happened."

Khamzat Chimaev added:

"That is normal. You can lie at press conferences and make it a show. For me, I can't lie for people. I'm the real. I'm who I am. If they like it, they don't like it. That guy plays too much. I saw him at the PI and he saw me and turned around. He ran somewhere. I didn't see him anymore... I never chose my fights. These chickens, they lie so much."

Chimaev added that Colby Covington waited until he decided to move to middleweight to mention him. He claimed that fighters speak about him online, however, when it comes time to sign the contract, they refuse. 'Borz' noted this as the reason for him not fighting since UFC 279, which took place over six months ago. 'Chaos' has also not entered the octagon in over a year. He last fought at UFC 272 against Jorge Masvidal.

What did Colby Covington say about Khamzat Chimaev?

Colby Covington has not responded to call-outs from any of the four welterweights immediately behind him in the rankings. His silence changed at UFC 286 as the No.2-ranked welterweight took shots at Khamzat Chimaev, stating:

"He's a f**king joke. The guy f**king sucks at fighting. He's unprofessional and I don't want to ever hear that guy's name again. You guys hype him up to be this great giant. The guy couldn't hold my f**king jock strap... The guy's a clown. I don't want to ever hear that guy's name in this division again. Let that dog-faced motherf**ker rot in 185."
