Khamzat Chimaev expressed his eagerness to fight Alex Pereira after 'Poatan' defeated Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 to win the middleweight title. 'Borz' has competed at both welterweight and middleweight throughout his career and has aspirations of becoming a two-division UFC champion eventually.

Darren Till recently weighed in on a possible matchup between one of his closest training partners and the UFC middleweight champion. Till believes the fight would be over in one minute.

During an interview with Seconds Out, the Scouser predicted that Chimaev would "maul" Pereira:

"Khamzat will maul him, it'd be a 30 second fight. Khamzat would maul him."

Alex Pereira's lack of MMA experience and grappling ability has made him a target for high-level wrestlers in the middleweight division. 'Poatan' has only 8 professional MMA fights, but his elite kickboxing background allowed him to defeat a much more accomplished MMA fighter in Israel Adesanya.

Khamzat Chimaev has been labeled one of the best grapplers in the promotion and has won the national Swedish wrestling championship three times. 'Borz' has mauled several of his previous UFC opponents, including Li Jingliang and Kevin Holland, and Darren Till believes that Pereira would befall a similar fate.

Chimaev competed in a freestyle wrestling match last year against No.9-ranked UFC middleweight Jack Hermansson and dominated the highly-skilled grappler throughout the match.

Gilbert Burns is eager to rematch Khamzat Chimaev at any weight

Gilbert Burns put on arguably the performance of his career at UFC 283 last weekend when he defeated Neil Magny in the first round. Burns bounced back in style from his narrow defeat to Khamzat Chimaev last April and he stated during the post-fight press conference that he wants to rematch 'Borz.'

The pair put on a Fight of the Year contender at UFC 273 in April 2022, as they traded heavy blows for three rounds before 'Borz' was crowned the winner via a unanimous decision. Some fans felt that if it were a five-round fight, then Burns may have won, as Khamzat Chimaev appeared to be fading in the third round.

During his post-fight press conference, Burns said the following:

"Any time I get the chance we're gonna fight again for sure. It can be on his [terms], 'Hey I cannot make 170 pounds right now' Let's say he says that, then okay, we can meet in the middle. 178, 180 [pounds] and for sure make that fight back."
