Emerging star UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev has taken aim at Robert Whittaker and wants him to be his next opponent at middleweight.

Chimaev recently spoke to Red Corner MMA about eyeing fellow middleweight Whittaker as his next opponent. When asked who he would fight next, 'Borz' stated:

"I think I will fight Robert Whittaker next. He's got no opponent. Paulo Costa ran away after talking that much about me and Robert. So I will fight Whittaker next. I want this fight. Although I like him as a human being, he is a solid guy, doesn't talk trash, doesn't cross any lines."

The Chechen MMA star is the current UFC #3 rated Welterweight Fighter, with an undefeated 12-0 professional MMA record. The Sweden native is a three-time gold medalist in Swedish wrestling and presently holds the record for the quickest three-fight victory streak in UFC history.

Khamzat Chimaev desires to compete at UFC 285 in March

No matter how high Khamzat Chimaev rises in the rankings, it's the same old story: he wants to keep himself incredibly busy. But no one wants to face the fiery Chechen juggernaut.

After failing to make weight in his last fight at UFC 279, it's unclear if he'll stay at 170 pounds or go up to middleweight. For 'Borz', the real question is where can he find someone willing to sign on the dotted line to scrap.

Chimaev's ambition to keep developing and being at the top of his game drove him all the way to Dubai to begin his training camp for his next bout. He continues to train and prepare for anyone wanting to fight him while seeking a fresh match arrangement.

Despite not being part of his game, Khamzat Chimaev has a knack for ripping down potential opponents. He made it plain that he still intended to fight newly crowned middleweight champion Alex Pereira, who is set to face Israel Adesanya again in early 2023.
