Rising welterweight contender Ian Garry has revealed that he won't be allowed to train at Leon Edwards' gym after the welterweight kingpin and his coach reportedly moved Team Renegade to ban him from the facility.

The undefeated Irishman is one of the top prospects in the 170 pounds division, and Edwards' coach, Dave Lovell, allegedly doesn't want the rising star instilling any "doubts" or insecurities" in the welterweight kingpin.

During an interview with The Independent, the 25-year-old explained why he is being forced out of Team Renegade despite the facility being very welcoming:

"Leon Edwards, his head coach, asked me not to come back to Renegade; told me I’m not allowed to train there... Leon and his head coach had an issue with me training on the mats and recently have asked me not to train there because Leon doesn’t want any insecurities or doubts on his own mats within the gym, which I don’t fully understand."

Garry is understandably furious at having lost the opportunity to train at Team Renegade, which he believes to be the best MMA gym in the UK. He said:

"Renegade is the best gym in the UK. I went there to learn from the guys around Birmingham and who have essentially proven that it’s the best gym in the UK. I didn’t go there to train with Leon, I went there to train with that gym, because they’re amazing. [X/t The Independent]"

'The Future' last fought at UFC 292 in April, where he beat Neil Magny via unanimous decision. In his next octagon outing, he is scheduled to face his teammate Vicente Luque at UFC 296 in December.

Ian Garry says Leon Edwards will "annihilate" Colby Covington

Leon Edwards is scheduled to face former two-time welterweight title challenger Colby Covington at UFC 296, and Ian Garry believes 'Rocky' will be too great of a challenge for the American.

'The Future' doesn't hold Covington in high regard, which was evident when he sat down for an interview with Nik Hobbs of Sky Sports. During the segment, he opined that the Englishman is going to make light work of 'Chaos':

"Leon Edwards absolutely annihilates Colby Covington. Colby Covington is s**t... He gets so much credit for losing. Let me tell yo now, Colby Covington is not what he wants people to make him out to be. Leon Edwards is going to just dispose [of] him in that octagon."
