Manel Kape has confirmed his withdrawal from the scheduled fight against Brandon Royval at UFC 317. Kape revealed that the reason for his withdrawal is a foot fracture.
'Starboy' is currently riding on a two-fight win streak. A win against Royval could have elevated Kape to a potential title fight against the UFC flyweight champion.
Expressing his disappointment over this unfortunate situation, Kape took to his X account to share his feelings about being unable to compete at UFC 317. He wrote:
"With great regret, I come to inform you that I am out of the next #UFC317 competition. I suffered a foot fracture during training and, after medical evaluation, I was instructed to have surgery and focus 100% on recovery. It's not easy to stay out of something I've been preparing for with so much dedication, and without a doubt, this would be the most advantageous fight of my career."

He added:
"But I understand that this is just another challenge on the way, and I trust the plans that Allah has for me! I sincerely thank everyone who is with me - we remain firm, stronger with each obstacle. The battle was only postponed... I'll be back soon!

Brandon Royval confirms Joshua Van as replacement for Manel Kape at UFC 317
The UFC has yet to provide any official word on Manel Kape’s withdrawal or a potential replacement. However, Brandon Royval seems to have confirmed that No. 14 flyweight Joshua Van will step in to fight him on short notice at UFC 317.
Through an Instagram post, Royval said:
"Manel Kape is out, Joshua Van is stepping in. I have zero idea of the extent of Manel Kape’s injuries, but I do know I have the hottest prospect and probably the most exciting UFC flyweight in front of me. Really, nothing changes for me as far as what’s in front of me. I’ve got a gangster that’s ready to take my head off and earn his name off of me..."
