Arman Tsarukyan names Khabib Nurmagomedov the GOAT over Islam Makhachev
Ever since Islam Makhachev defended his belt for the third time in the lightweight division, matching the title defenses of his close friend and coach Khabib Nurmagomedov, the debate has been ongoing about who is the greatest of all time in the lightweight division.
Tsarukyan, who is set to face Makhachev at UFC 311, recently spoke with Ariel Helwani. When asked who he considers the GOAT between ‘The Eagle’ and Makhachev, Tsarukyan named the UFC Hall of Famer. He went on to heap praise on Nurmagomedov, saying:
"It's a tough question because Khabib [Nurmagomedov], for me, is a different level fighter. Not just a fighter, but a man, you know? So, I like Khabib more than Islam [Makhachev]. When I was young, I watched all of Khabib's fights, and for me, he's the GOAT in our division right now."
