Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Giancarlo Bodoni is proud of how far he has come in martial arts. He, however, reiterated that his journey has been anything but easy.
The Texas native and two-time ADCC gold winner shared this in an interview with ONE Championship, pointing out that what he has achieved and where he is now were not handed to him on a silver platter and that he had to put in the needed work to claim them.
“Nobody has an easy path. Even if you had everything handed to you – you had all the financial backing in the world, your parents supported you – at the end of the day, you still gotta show up. You still gotta do the job. You still gotta train. You still gotta perform. Either way, you’re going to have to face it.”

Giancarlo Bodoni lauds ONE Championship's efforts to promote jiu-jitsu
A true student of jiu-jitsu, Giancarlo Bodoni is grateful to have a platform like ONE Championship rallying behind the sport and promoting it on a global scale.
The 29-year-old American fighter weighed in on it in the same interview with the promotion, highlighting how, by and large, the organization's support is a huge shot in the arm for jiu-jitsu and athletes like him.
Bodoni said:
“It is creating a situation where the entire world of jiu-jitsu outside of the U.S. and this side of the world is getting an opportunity to come up and increase the level.”
Jiu-jitsu is among the martial arts that ONE Championship has picked up to spotlight in the past few years apart from its traditional offering of MMA. Submission grappling, along with Muay Thai and kickboxing, has steadily been garnering a following under the promotion.
Among the noted campaigners in submission grappling under ONE are champion athletes Tye and Kade Ruotolo, Mayssa Bastos, Dante Leon, Jozef Chen, Cole Abate and now, Bodoni.
