At 36 years of age, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao is continuing to push himself into new territory.
With all that he has accomplished in his career, it would be easy for the bantamweight Muay Thai world champion to rest on his laurels. Instead, he is working as hard as ever and that’s why he’s one of the most decorated fighters in the sport.
At ONE’s debut at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand this Friday, Nong-O will put his world championship on the line against Russia’s Alaverdi Ramazanov. For his training camp, he has been surrounded by the very best coaches and training partners, who he knows will get the best out of him and keep him at the top of the sport.
As well as working with the notoriously stern Trainer Gae, Nong-O has been spending time in the gym alongside the likes of former featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn and current bantamweight kickboxing champion Petchtanong Petchfergus.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao revealed that the latter has helped in more ways than just sparring:
“Yes, Petchtanong designed a training program for me based on sports science. So, I am confident in my power from the hard work from Trainer Gae, my new techniques from trainer Diesel Lek. It is a perfect fight camp for me.”
Superbon "sad" he can’t watch friend Nong-O Gaiyanghadao’s upcoming fight
Elite strikers Superbon Singha Mawynn and Nong-O Gaiyanghadao have spent the previous few months helping each other prepare for their respective world championship defenses.
Living up to the old saying, ‘Iron sharpens iron’, by training together, the two world champions hoped to raise each other's level.
Superbon fought this past weekend at ONE Fight Night 6, where he was defeated by Chingiz Allazov in the main event. Before the fight, the former featherweight kickboxing world champion revealed that although he would return to help with his final preparations, he would not be able to watch Nong-O Gaiyanghadao compete this upcoming Friday.
He told SCMP MMA:
“Nong-O, Petchtanong also go [to my gym]. He’s been preparing with me because he will also fight next week.”
He added:
“Yeah yeah, after this I’m gonna go with him to train. Usually he doesn’t train much after my fight, but I'm a little bit sad because I cannot go see him fight, because on the 18th I have to fly to New York, he has to fight on the 17th.”
Alhough he's disappointed that he won't get to watch his friend and training partner compete and support him, Superbon has another task at hand. He will fly to the US to deliver Muay Thai seminars and bring everything that he has learned to the masses on the opposite side of the world.
