Reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao recently went to the United Kingdom for a Muay Thai seminar tour when he ran into a familiar face.

In a video posted to Instagram, the 35-year-old legend from Sakon Nakhon, Thailand, was seen meeting up with former opponent Liam ‘Hitman’ Harrison just months after their highly anticipated showdown in the circle.

Nong-O and Harrison locked horns at ONE on Prime Video 1 this past August in Singapore. However, the match ended prematurely after ‘Hitman’ suffered a freak leg injury that instantly ended the contest.

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao posted a clip of their casual meeting on Instagram. In the caption, which has been translated into English, he said:

“There are not many boxers like us. We fight each other to death. In the end, we are friends. Nice to meet you 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Great memories 👍🏼 #worldchampion @liambadco #muaythai”

The Thai legend put his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the line against Harrison in what was a much-talked about showdown between two of the best Muay Thai kickboxers on the planet. Harrison, the No.5-ranked fighter in the division, came into the contest on the back of a spectacular $100,000 bonus- winning performance against Muangthai PK.Saenchai.

Many fans were expecting the fight to be an absolute skirmish. However, the match was halted quite early after Harrison took a sharp leg kick just below his lead left knee. As ‘Hitman’ sat on the seat of his pants on the canvas, the look of despair on his face told the story of a man who could no longer continue.

With Harrison unable to get back up to his feet, the bout was waived off at the 2:10 minute mark of the very first round.

Fans would love to see Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and Liam Harrison run it back in the future, but we’ll have to wait and see if they ever meet in the circle again.

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao wishes Liam Harrison "a speedy recovery"

Liam Harrison is currently on the mend, recuperating from the leg injury in August against Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.

However, the Thai native immediately responded to the post that Harrison uploaded on Instagram and wished him a speedy recovery in the comments section of the post. He wrote:

“You have nothing to be sorry for Liam. You are a warrior and a true fighter. These things happen in the fight game. You will always be a legend and it was an honor to share the cage with you. I wish you a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see you competing again.”
