UFC middleweight contender Robert Whittaker vehemently denies the recent claims made by rising star Khamzat Chimaev that he has been avoiding a fight with him.

Whittaker set the record straight, revealing that the UFC had not communicated with him regarding his next fight, in a bid to put the speculation to rest and clarify his stance.

In a recent MMArcade podcast, Robert Whittaker refuted Chimaev's accusations of ducking, dismissing them as baseless and unfounded. He asserts that he has never backed down from any opponent and has always been willing to face anyone the UFC puts in front of him. 'The Reaper' emphasizes that he is a true fighter and a professional athlete who is always ready to step into the octagon and compete at the highest level.

The former middleweight champion stated:

"I was never offered to fight Chimaev, and that's that. I haven't been offered any fight like I've been just I've been just waiting. I'm sure I could have asked for for someone in the meanwhile like I've been talking to the UFC and I've been asking like what's up."

He added:

"I have not received any sort of written contract saying do you want to fight Chimaev in XYZ that's not something that has been presented to me."
