Sage Northcutt saw his ONE Championship journey take an unexpected detour. However, he is eager to showcase what he is capable of as a fighter now that he is healthy.

‘Super’ spent considerable time on the sidelines after sustaining multiple facial fractures in the aftermath of his knockout loss to Brazil's Cosmo Alexandre in his promotional debut in May 2019.

It was an episode in his career that he looks back on with regret and something he wants to make up for as he resumes fighting.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Sage Northcutt shared that it was unfortunate he was not able to show what he was made of immediately and highlighted how he was on a winning roll prior to his ONE Championship debut.

He said:

“You asked about fans maybe forgetting or someone that might not know [me]. That’s the thing, I feel like coming into ONE Championship, I didn’t really get to show what I truly can do. And it was unfortunate what happened in my first fight with ONE Championship. But I’m coming off the UFC where I was fighting before, my last three fights consecutively, I was on a three-fight win streak.”
