'Super' Sage Northcutt is eager to once again showcase his skills on the global stage following a layoff that extends all the way back to May 2019.

The American combat sports star will have been sidelined for four years by the time he steps inside the circle at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video in May. Northcutt has been dealt a tough hand, but he's feeling good ahead of his return.

Originally scheduled to return from injury against Shinya Aoki in April 2021, Sage Northcutt was forced to withdraw as a result of a health scare. Fortunately, it appears as though he has overcome the issues, as he told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour:

"They ran some bloodwork, a D-Dimer test, to check for blood clots. Ran some bloodwork and found out I got some different things going on that COVID was like causing some problems. That’s kind of like what I was dealing with. But that’s old news now. That’s in the past, and I feel great. I feel so good now."

The 26-year-old was dealing with a compromised immune system as well as issues with his kidneys. That all came after he initially suffered multiple facial fractures in his ONE Championship debut defeat to Cosmo Alexandre.

'Super' Sage is slated to make his return at ONE Fight Night 10 against Pakistan's Ahmed Mujtaba, who holds a 4-2 record inside the circle. Northcutt is excited to display his skillset in front of the world, asserting to Helwani:

“You asked about fans maybe forgetting or someone that might not know [me]. That’s the thing, I feel like coming into ONE Championship, I didn’t really get to show what I truly can do. And it was unfortunate what happened in my first fight with ONE Championship. But I’m coming off the UFC where I was fighting before, my last three fights consecutively, I was on a three-fight win streak.”

Northcutt has always possessed talent, even back in his UFC days prior to being released. The Team Alpha Male affiliate amassed a 6-2 record inside the octagon, which included three finishes.

Make sure to watch the long-awaited return of Sage Northcutt at ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 against Ahmed Mujtaba, live from 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
