Malaysian atomweight fighter Jihin Radzuan believes Filipino Denice Zamboanga's ground game still leaves much to be desired to be considered a true threat on that end.

'Shadow Cat' shared this when asked by Sportskeeda MMA to give her take on the ground game of 'The Menace', who she fought in 2019, highlighting that while Zamboanga has some things down pat in fighting on the ground, overall she is still a work in progress.

The 25-year-old fighter said:

"She didn't really catch me with anything in the grappling. Because if you talk about grappling, it means with submissions and what not. But she never really threatened me with her submission game. But she definitely knows how to go for takedowns and control."

In their showdown five years ago, Radzuan lost to the then ONE-debuting Denice Zamboanga by unanimous decision.

Both fighters are currently in the top five contenders in the ONE atomweight MMA division, ruled by Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex.

Zamboanga is ranked second in the division and Radzuan at No. 5.

Denice Zamboanga seeks to realize world champion dreams at ONE 167

Denice Zamboanga finally gets her shot at the ONE atomweight MMA world title when she collides with reigning divisional queen Stamp Fairtex later this year.

The 27-year-old Filipino challenger mixes it up with the Thai champion at ONE 167 on June 7 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It serves as the main bout of the event, which will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans via Amazon Prime Video.

It is something that Zamboanga has always aimed for since making her promotional debut in December 2019 and looks to fulfill now that she is given the opportunity.

Heading into ONE 167, 'The Menace' has won back-to-back matches, the most recent over Brazilian Julie Mezabarba by unanimous decision in April last year.

Meanwhile, Stamp will be defending the world title she claimed last September for the first time at ONE 167. She is currently on a roll, winning her last four fights.
