Sold-out BKFC card in Florida gets canceled, new date announced

The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has stated that their sold-out card, BKFC 38, which was set to take place today, has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

The card was due to take place in Delray Beach, Florida, and featured Nat Nguyen taking on former Bellator fighter Daniel Strauss in the main event. Yesterday, however, it was reported that the Florida State Commission had canceled the event:

"So Florida commission has canceled this weekends BKFC event. Haven't heard the reason as for why yet."

The organization's official Twitter account then released a statement confirming that the card was off and has been rescheduled for April 21st. They also added that they would honor fans who had purchased March 17th tickets or offer them full refunds if they are unable to attend the new date.

The statement reads:

"Due to unforeseen circumstances outside of BKFC's control regarding the venue, the sold out BKFC 38 in Delray Beach, Florida which was scheduled for March 17, 2023, has unfortunately been postponed."

"The event and fight card has been rescheduled for April 21, 2023. All tickets purchased for the March 17 date will be honored for the new date. Refunds will be made available to those who cannot make the new date. We apologize for any inconvience this may have caused and we look forward to seeing you in April!"

Luke Rockhold reveals why he signed for BKFC

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold shocked MMA fans around the world when they learned the news that he had signed for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship earlier this year.

'Cool Hand' called time on his MMA career at UFC 278 last year after going three rounds with Paulo Costa in a highly entertaining clash. Despite coming up short on the scorecards, Rockhold went out on his sword, impressing with his chin and the heavy shots he landed.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Luke Rockhold explained that their offer to him was one he "couldn't refuse," marking the end of his brief retirement:

"It's an offer I couldn't refuse and I'm still a free agent. That's the beauty of life, that's the beauty of where we're at and where we're going to keep it. BKFC, I'm loyal to them, for sure, if we stay in that space but this is a one-term bout agreement... I like what's in front of me and I like the opponent and I like the f***ing stage and it's f***ing new... I think anybody from the early days of fighting was a street fighter. All these new kids are MMA fighters now... They take care of the fighters, man. They take care of people and they give you what you're worth."
