According to Chael Sonnen, Charles Oliveira needs a single victory over a specific opponent to earn another shot at the UFC lightweight title. 'The American Gangster,' like many fans and pundits, believes that Beneil Dariush is the most obvious fight to be booked for 'do Bronx.'

According to Sonnen, there is no way that the UFC brass hasn't attempted to seal the booking between Oliveira and Dariush. Hence, he claims that there is only one explanation for the matchup not being announced yet: someone chickened out.

While he denies having any insider information, Sonnen confidently guarantees that either Charles Oliveira or Beneil Dariush is hesitant in putting pen to paper. The 45-year-old said on his YouTube channel:

"The mere fact that Oliveira and Dariush hasn't been announced yet, says somebody behind the scenes has blinked. There is no scenario where the second floor of the UFC located in Southern Nevada has not attempted to put Oliveira and Dariush together. So if that fight isn't gonna happen, somebody blinked...I have no insider information, I guarantee I am right."

Charles Oliveira doesn't plan to change anything in potential rematch against Islam Makhachev

Islam Makhachev thoroughly outclassed Charles Oliveira at UFC 280 en route to a second-round submission victory. 'Do Bronx' is now eyeing a shot at the UFC lightweight title by the end of the year, hopefully against Makhachev.

However, 'do Bronx' doesn't plan on introducing any significant changes against the Dagestani in their potential rematch. Also looking to register an emphatic win against an elite contender in April-May, the Brazilian said in a Q&A at UFC 283:

“With all due respect, I had 10 minutes off on a bad night. I wouldn’t change anything to fight Islam Makhachev. This fight will happen again. Be sure of that, this fight will happen. I’ll fight in April or May, no matter who that is, and God will bless me with a win, and I’ll have my rematch with Islam Makhachev by the end of the year.” via Sporstkeeda MMA
