Multiple-time Muay Thai world champion Panpayak Jitmuangnon will face 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix finals at ONE 164 in Manila on December 3. The bout was confirmed by ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

ONE 164 will be headlined by a highly-anticipated strawweight world title main event as Joshua ‘The Passion’ Pacio defends his crown against trash-talking extraordinaire, Jarred ‘The Monkey God’ Brooks.

Superlek fought his way to the tournament finals, defeating Taiki Naito in the quarter-final round at ONE 157 in May. He followed that up with a first-round knockout of Walter Goncalves in the semi-final at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August. However, Panpayak Jitmuangnon had a significantly shorter path to the championship bout.

Panpayak found himself inserted into the semi-final in August after Savvas Michael’s originally scheduled opponent, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, was forced to withdraw from the contest. Stepping in on short notice, ‘The Angel Warrior’ made the most of the opportunity, earning a second-round knockout over Michael. With the win, he has punched his ticket to another showdown with ‘The Kicking Machine’ this December.

Panpayak Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 will meet for the eighth time at ONE 164

Since 2015, the two combatants have clashed an incredible seven times, with Panpayak holding a slight advantage. He has won four out of his seven meetings with Kiatmoo9.

Their one and only meeting inside the circle came at ONE: No Surrender in the summer of 2020. On that night, Superlek scored a unanimous decision victory over his longtime rival. Despite the fact that they have met on multiple occasions, their fight at ONE 164 will have the highest stakes thus far.

The winner will leave the Philippines as the World Grand Prix champion and will likely find themselves the next man in line for a shot at Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s flyweight Muay Thai world championship.

As for Rodtang, ‘The Iron Man’ will step back into the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4. He'll defend his flyweight crown in the co-main event against current strawweight titleholder Joseph ‘The Hurricane’ Lasiri.
