Terrance McKinney and sports and pop culture blog Barstool Sports have recently been at odds. Prior to his fight against Ismael Bonfim at UFC 283, Terrance McKinney took to social media to claim that the platform's journalists were clueless about MMA.
McKinney was mocked mercilessly after his knockout loss to Bonfim. Although he was unfazed by most of the comments, there was one in particular that he reacted strongly to because he felt disrespected. Barstool Sports made an effort to rub salt in the wounds by turning the lightweight contender McKinney's comments against him.
Most recently, Micah Aaron Parsons, an American football outside linebacker, lashed out at the platform for infusing emotional trigger words in their headlines. The headlines followed the Cowboys linebacker's previous admission of his friendship with Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson. Parsons has been criticized for being overly vocal about his desire to see the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII to honor the NFC East.

Terrance McKinney replied under the tweet:
"Barstool is the worst. Every writer and journalist and anchor there thinks they’re better than the athletes they cover. Ain’t that crazy? They cover sports they could never do by judging those that can and turns us into memes for profit."
This provoked a reaction from Robbie Fox, and what ensued was a full-blown Twitter tirade between the two:
"Yes, that's Barstool - "better than the athletes we cover" with zero self deprecation involved -written by this guy"
The long Twitter exchange appears to have been resolved, as both McKinney and Fox have since tweeted that everything is well between them.
Terrance McKinney claims it was an honor to fight Ismael Bonfim at UFC 283
Ismael Bonfim delivered a spectacular flying knee in his promotional debut at UFC 283, which knocked Terrance McKinney out cold on the preliminary card of the event.
Bonfim, a graduate of Dana White's Contender Series, made an outstanding debut that impressed everyone, including UFC color commentator Joe Rogan. The podcast host also discussed the finish and Bonfim's debut alongside Paul Felder in a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
Having had time to reflect on his loss and gather his thoughts, Terrance McKinney showed graciousness in defeat and claimed that it was an honor to share the octagon with Bonfim:
"I always say I’m a fan first so it still trips me out when I’m listening to somethin and hear my name from these two in a conversation. I’ll be back it was an honor to fight with Bonfim."
