Terrance McKinney has predicted a first-round finish in a potential matchup against Paddy Pimblett.
‘The Baddy’ and ‘T-Wrecks’ are arguably the most discussed unranked UFC lightweights. As both fighters get closer to the upper echelons of the division, McKinney has continuously been asked about potentially fighting Pimblett.
During an interview with James Lynch, the 28-year-old had this to say when asked how a fight against the Liverpool native would play out:
“Just domination. He [Pimblett] won’t be able to take me down, one. Two, he won’t be able to stand with me. He might be a good grappler, but he won’t be able to scramble with me because of years of wrestling. No matter what, we get him out of there in the first round, but for the fans, I would not wrestle. I’d look to put him out unconscious.”
McKinney is currently 3-1 in the UFC, with his next fight scheduled against Ismael Bonfim in January.
Meanwhile, Pimblett has not fought the same level of opponents as ‘T-Wrecks,’ but he has built a massive fanbase through four UFC wins. It’ll be intriguing to see if these two fan favorites find themselves matched up in the octagon in 2023.

Terrance McKinney believes Paddy Pimblett lost to Jared Gordon
Paddy Pimblett’s fourth UFC fight was more competitive than his first three combined.
Jared Gordon was expected to test ‘The Baddy’. 'Flash' did more than that, as most of the MMA community thought he should have been awarded the decision victory against the Liverpudlian.
When asked about Pimblett winning unanimously against Gordon on the scorecards, UFC lightweight prospect Terrance McKinney had this to say:
"I thought Jared won one hundred percent. I think he was landing the cleaner shots. Pretty much backed him [Pimblett] up the whole time... He won the first two rounds with ease and then the third round was dominated by him [as well]. Like I said, three rounds to none, [the win] should have easily went to Jared.”
Regardless of the controversy, Pimblett passed the next test on his way to superstardom. At 27, ‘The Baddy’ has a pro-MMA record of 20-3, with the potential to become a UFC champion one day.
