The main event of UFC 307 between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. was among the best fights of the year. The back-and-forth contest earned Fight of the Night honors, with Pereira ultimately retaining his belt.

It was ‘Poatan’s' third light heavyweight title defense. Rountree Jr. entered the bout with confidence, riding a five-fight winning streak, which was on full display in the first two rounds. ‘The War Horse’ showed incredible resilience throughout the fight, but the Brazilian champion's power was too much for the challenger. Pereira finished the fight via TKO in the fourth round.

Recently, @ChampRDS posted a screenshot of Rountree Jr.’s Instagram story on X, where he framed his fight kit from UFC 307. Fans praised Rountree Jr. in the comment section.

Alex Pereira is still in pain after war with Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307

After losing the first two rounds on the judges' scorecards against Khalil Rountree Jr., Alex Pereira bounced back in resounding fashion, putting on a striking masterclass in the third and fourth rounds en route to a TKO win.

In a recent interview with Podpah, the Brazilian shared that he had injured his hand in the fight and that it still hurts. 'Poatan' said:

"In that 4th round, I was throwing jabs and it was hurting my hand man, I swear. I was thinking, ‘My hand must be broken.' It still hurts today.”
