Oliveira recently announced on social media that he is planning on returning to the octagon soon, following a brief hiatus from MMA. The Brazilian had been in mixed form, going 1-2 in his last three appearances, which included losing out on the lightweight title to Islam Makhachev, as well as coming up short in a No.1 contender clash with Arman Tsarukyan.

Charles Oliveira shares thoughts on potentially facing Alexander Volkanovski
A new super-fight could be on the cards after Charles Oliveira recently expressed an interest in facing former featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.
'The Great' has attempted to conquer the lightweight division on two occasions, facing off against Islam Makhachev both times for the title. While he did ultimately come up short, the Australian has reiterated his goal is still to become a multi-weight champion.
Oliveira then addressed a potential bout against Volkanovski in a report by @HappyPunch on X. According to 'do Bronx', a fight between the two MMA stars could be exactly what they need, as it could set either of them up for another run at the title. He said:
"Why not? It would be a great honor. A great fighter, a great name. So why not? Waiting to see what the UFC will bring for us."
