Dricus du Plessis played spoiler in Darren Till's long-awaited return at UFC 282.

Du Plessis came out firing on all cylinders from the get-go and nearly finished Till in the first round. However, the Englishman was able to survive the onslaught.

A back-and-forth battle ensued between the two competitors. The South African fighter took back control in the third when he caught Till with a perfectly-timed takedown.

From there, du Plessis easily took the mount and rained down shots on Till, who was forced to give up his back. Du Plessis made the most of the golden opportunity when he sunk in a rear-naked choke, forcing Till to tap out.

The official stoppage came at 2:43 in the third round as du Plessis snagged his sixth win in a row.

During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, du Plessis was asked if he had gas tank issues after his hot start. The welterweight rising star responded by saying:

"The gas tank can never be empty. It can go a little bit low but it never goes empty. Third round, it comes down to that dog and who’s toughest. Bring on that last round, we are always going to win it."

Till, on the other hand, suffered his third straight loss. The Englishman hasn't tasted victory since his split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum in 2019.

What's worse, Till revealed that he suffered a devastating injury during the fight. He was caught on camera telling Bruce Buffer that he had torn his ACL before exiting the arena.
