Ciryl Gane will welcome Jon Jones back to the UFC this weekend when the two men face off for the vacant heavyweight title. However, a recent picture of 'Bon Gamin' making the rounds online has sparked concerns about the former interim champion possibly carrying a hand injury.

Gane notably sustained a hand injury in his TKO win over Tai Tuivasa in Paris last year, and in an image from UFC 285 media day, the Frenchman's right hand appears swollen.

While Gane has claimed to have healed up, fans think the visible swelling on his hand tells a different story. They made their thoughts known in the comment section of the post on Twitter.

Check out some social media reactions below:

One fan recalled:

"That's the scar from his hand surgery. He broke his hand fighting Tai last year."

Praising Gane's willingness to not withdraw from the fight, a fan wrote:

"I’m just saying people would use that as a way to pull out respect for going with the fight still."

Another fan speculated:

"It’s either a metacarpal or it’s a bad heal after a metacarpal break."

One Twitter user pointed out that most fighters have busted up hands, writing:

"I’m going to go out on a limb and say most these dudes probably have jacked up hands, they punch faces for a living."

Another fan joked:

"There goes the betting line."

UFC 285: Ciryl Gane claims his hand is fully recovered

Ciryl Gane will take on the biggest test of his career when he faces Jon Jones at UFC 285 tomorrow. The former interim heavyweight champion will be looking to claim the vacant heavyweight title with a statement performance against one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.

Considering the stakes on the line, 'Bon Gamin' recently downplayed any speculation about his right hand being injured and claimed that he is fully ready for his next outing. While Gane did have hand surgery last year after his knockout victory over Tai Tuivasa, it seems the 32-year-old Frenchman has recovered fully.

In a recent interview with James Lynch, Gane shed some light on the status of his hand:

"It’s okay now. No, I did already some sparring, I did already some exercise on the bag, heavy bag. Big punch. No, I’m okay with my hand. My hand is fixed.”
