Another UFC fighter under the tutelage of controversial MMA coach James Krause has been suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. This time, flyweight Jeff Molina has been put under investigation.

As per a report by ESPN MMA, the reason for the fighter's suspension is marked as "uncategorized" by the Association of Boxing Commissions database. However, it's been said that the decision is linked to the gambling controversy surrounding James Krause and Darrick Minner.

NSAC executive director Jeff Mullen has refused to comment on the issue until the meeting's support material is released.

"El Jefe" is seen one of the most promising young prospects in the flyweight division. Since debuting for the premier American promotion in 2020, the 25-year-old has racked up three straight wins. He currently holds an impressive MMA record of 11 wins against two losses.

While Jeff Molina was originally scheduled to face Jimmy Flick for his next fight on January 14, he has since withdrawn from the event.

Both Minner and Krause are currently under NSAC suspension in relation to an ongoing betting investigation surrounding Darrick Minner's UFC Vegas 64 bout against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke.

In the wake of the gambling investigation, the American promotion announced that fighters training under James Krause will not be allowed to participate in future UFC events.

What tipped off a possible betting scandal at UFC Vegas 64?

The bout between Darrick Minner and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke caught the public eye for all the wrong reasons when it was announced that the fight was under investigation for a possible betting scandal.

Although Minner was already going into the fight as an underdog, there was a huge influx of money for Shayilan Nuerdanbieke to win by first-round knockout just before the bout.

Sure enough, in the very first round, Minner threw a leg kick and fell to the canvas grimacing in pain owing to an apparent injury, allowing 'Wolverine' to secure a relatively easy TKO victory. Darrick Minner has since been released from the promotion.

Following news of a possible gambling scandal, various Canadian provinces halted wagers on MMA events.
