UFC Las Vegas went down at The Theater at Virgin Hotels, Paradise, Nevada this weekend for a change instead of the Apex.

The card was headlined by a clash of elite bantamweight contenders Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili.

The main-card also featured a promising catchweight (215 lbs.) clash between light-heavyweight contenders Ryan Spann and Nikita Krylov. While Spann was coming off consecutive first-round stoppage wins, Krylov went into the fight riding a two-fight win streak of his own.

Both fighters started aggressively and chose to clinch after a few heated exchanges. 'Superman' jumped into a D'Arce choke as they scrambled for position but Krylov managed to slip out quickly.

'The Miner' subsequently slapped in a guillotine, which Spann had little difficulty escaping from. As they continued to roll around, Krylov managed to sink in a triangle that forced a tap from Spann at 3:38 of the opening frame.

This marked the 28th finish in 30 victories for the Ukrainian contender, making his finish rate (not to be mistaken for overall win percentage) a scary 93.33%.

'The Miner' currently holds a 30-9 overall record wih 7 losses in 18 UFC fights.

Nikita Krylov explains the rebooking of his clash against Ryan Spann at UFC Las Vegas

Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann were originally scheduled to headline a UFC Fight Night on February 25. However, the event lost its headliner midway through the card with the UFC announcing that Krylov was sick.

Doctors reportedly failed to put Krylov back in fighting shape despite 'The Miner' coming in early to the UFC PI. Dana White subsequently mentioned that the Ukrainian had some stomach issues and kept his promise by rebooking the fight at UFC Las Vegas.

Krylov recently shared more details about his sickness that led to the fight being rebooked. 'The Miner' believes that some of the food he had the night before the fight contained stale eggs which led to food poisoning. The 31-year-old said during the UFC Las Vegas pre-fight presser:

“In our hotel, we don’t have a refrigerator. I took my food in the evening Friday. Saturday morning I take food, and after 90 minutes, maybe two hours, I feel myself (getting) bad. My temperature stay higher, I feel a bit of discomfort inside. We came to the Apex and we worked with a doctor. He gave me one pill. After one more pill, we tried all what I can to fight, but I can’t do it.”
