Conor McGregor recently weighed in on the upcoming vacant heavyweight championship fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane on Saturday night in the main event at UFC 285.

UFC on BT Sport uploaded a clip of a conversation with McGregor, where he gave his gave his thoughts on the highly anticipated heavyweight clash. He mentioned that he is excited to see the former light heavyweight champion competing again after a long layoff.

He said:

"I'm excited to see [Jon] Jones fight at heavyweight after so many years. I'm very excited to see it."

For years, fans have wondered how 'Bones' would fare at heavyweight and will finally get their answer when he makes his heavyweight debut. 'The Notorious' also described the matchup in terms of what threat Gane could pose. He didn't give a prediction on who he thinks will walk out of UFC 285 as the new heavyweight champion but wished both men luck, saying:

"[Ciryl] Gane, is a long rangy...Very interested to see how it goes. I'm excited to see. I wish both men the best of luck and God bless."

It remains to be seen whether the promotion plans to have McGregor and Michael Chandler in the arena and appear on the broadcast in a faceoff to generate more buzz around the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Conor McGregor sounds off on Charles Oliveira

Conor McGregor sounded off on Charles Oliveira after the UFC lightweight champion's appearance on The MMA Hour, where he predicted that Michael Chandler would defeat him.

Oliveira gave his prediction on how he believes the fight will play out and mentioned that the former two-division champion will do a great job selling the fight but won't win it. 'The Notorious' obviously didn't agree and took to Twitter to fire back at 'Do Bronx' with a series of tweets.

He wrote:

"Charles Oliveira shut your pie hole...[Brazilian flag] 2-0...Actually 3-0 because Rda sh*t a brick."

It will be interesting to see whether 'The Notorious' and 'Do Bronx' will fight each other in the future. A bout between the two former lightweight champions would make sense, especially if 'Mystic Mac' defeats Chandler.
