UFC Vegas 73 bonuses: Fighter bounces back from 3-fight skid to bag $50K, main event expectedly earns POTN

Mackenzie Dern and Angela Hill stole the show on May 20 and were among the winners of the UFC Fight Night bonus.

The two strawweights locked horns in a five-round main event at UFC Vegas 73. The matchup turned out to be a competitive affair with Dern threatening Hill with several submission attempts and 'Overkill' showing her toughness by managing to avoid all of them.

The fight lasted the allotted 25 minutes and went to the judges. Dern was declared the winner by unanimous decision with 49-43, 49-44 and 49-44 on the three scorecards.

The main event was declared the Fight of the Night and both fighters received a bonus of $50,000 each for their efforts. This marked Dern's fifth and Hill's fourth bonus in the multi-billion dollar promotion.

Viacheslav Borschev also had an impressive outing at UFC Vegas 73. 'Slava' went up against Hayisaer Maheshate in a lightweight bout on the prelims of the card. Borschev knocked his opponent out in the second round of the fight and by doing so, broke his two-fight skid in the promotion. The 31-year-old was awarded the Performance of the Night bonus worth $50,000 for the finish.

Borschev is currently 2-2 in the multi-billion dollar promotion and has competed in only 10 fights in his MMA career. However, despite his lack of experience, 'Slava' ranks high on entertainment value and has the potential to be one of the top action fighters in the organization.

UFC Fight Night bonus: Diego Ferreira adds another 50K bonus to his resume

Diego Ferreira managed to turn things around on May 20. After being out of action for over a year, Ferreira made his comeback to take up MMA veteran Michael Johnson in a lightweight encounter.

The Brazilian knocked Johnson out cold in the second round and got rewarded for it with a Performance of the Night bonus cheque of $50,000. This marks Ferreira's fifth bonus in the UFC.

With the victory, Ferreira snapped his three-fight losing streak in the promotion. Prior to the skid, the Brazilian was riding a six-fight winning streak and will now look to rebuild momentum by stacking a few more wins under his belt.
