ONE Championship made its monumental debut in the United States with ONE: Fight Night 10 last May, and it was headlined by a trilogy bout for the ages between flyweight MMA greats Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes.

'Mighty Mouse' and Moraes have shared the circle twice before with the flyweight MMA world title on the line, where the Brazilian world champion produced a historic defense by knocking out Johnson with a meteoric knee to the face in their 2021 classic.

However, Johnson would return the favor a year later as he had an eerily similar knockout of Moraes to claim the ONE flyweight MMA world title, setting up the stage for the trilogy bout.

Both men played it cautiously in the opening rounds as they had grown familiar with each others' game, with 'Mikinho' daring Johnson to make a mistake while Johnson put the pressure on Moraes.

It would turn out to be a masterful game plan from the AMC Pankration/Evolve MMA product as his measured approach to fighting Moraes allowed him to leave with the unanimous decision win and successfully defend his flyweight MMA world championship.

ONE Championship returning to Denver in September

The world's largest martial arts promotion is heading to the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, on September 6 with ONE 168 for its second-ever live event in the United States.

Atop the marquee, fans will get to witness women's atomweight MMA world titlist Stamp Fairtex challenge Xiong Jing Nan for her women's strawweight MMA world championship.

The other world title bout will feature flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9's attempt to dethrone Jonathan Haggerty for the bantamweight Muay Thai world title.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver will go on sale to the general public on April 24 at 10 AM Mountain Time (MT) on Ticketmaster.
