There was a lot of hype for Sedriques Dumas coming into the UFC as he entered the octagon with a perfect 7-0 record, but his debut didn't go as planned despite showing signs of promise throughout the clash.

After an impressive showing on the Contender Series, the kickboxer managed to display his improvements in all aspects of mixed martial arts, ultimately leading him to an early submission victory. This was the second submission win of his career, with four knockouts and one decision filling out his record.

As the fight started, Dumas showed his electric speed and lengthy fighting style, utilizing leg kicks and managing to rock his opponent on the feet, but the momentum shifted when Josh Fremd implemented his grappling.

Rocking Dumas on the feet early in the second round, Fremd eventually bullied his opponent up against the octagon fence and eventually sunk in a guillotine choke submission victory, handing the 27-year-old the first loss of his professional career.

The Factory X athlete was emotional after collecting his first win in the octagon and will now be hoping to push on and put together a string of wins under the UFC banner.

Although the result is not ideal, Sedriques Dumas can go back to the drawing board and focus on improving his craft. Despite coming up short, the prospect did show positive signs, especially in the striking. The size difference was noticeable and it may be a smart idea for 'The Reaper' to consider moving down to 170lbs.

What is Josh Fremd's UFC record after Sedriques Dumas win?

Beginning his career in the UFC after winning seven of his last eight fights, Josh Fremd matched up against tough opponent Anthony Hernandez in his octagon debut.

After a back-and-forth 15-minute affair, 'Fluffy' ultimately did enough to get the nod on the judges' scorecards, handing the debutant his first loss under the UFC banner.

His next appearance in the octagon came six months after losing to Hernandez in a clash against Tresean Gore, which was certain to provide fireworks. Just 49 seconds into the second round, Fremd was put to sleep with a nasty guillotine choke, making him 0-2 in the UFC.

A must-win bout followed when the 29-year-old welcomed the debuting Sedriques Dumas into the cage, and as previously mentioned, he managed to secure his first win in the promotion.
