Irish superstar Conor McGregor is 34 years old. 'The Notorious' was born on 14 July 1988 in Dublin, Ireland. McGregor picked up the sport of boxing at the age of 12 at the Crumlin Boxing Club and started his journey into the world of combat sports.

Rumors regarding the Irishman's retirement from MMA have been going around for quite some time. McGregor has not been very active in recent years and has, on several occasions, announced his retirement from the sport.

Hey guys I’ve decided to retire from fighting. Thank you all for the amazing memories! What a ride it’s been! Here is a picture of myself and my mother in Las Vegas post one of my World title wins! Pick the home of your dreams Mags I love you! Whatever you desire it’s yours," wrote Conor McGregor.

So, it is fair for MMA fans to speculate whether the Irishman is on the verge of retirement or not.

But in a recent interview, 'Mystic Mac' shed light on his future and stated that he wanted to compete in 100 more fights.

“I hope for 100 more fights. I hope for consistency. I’m working for consistency. I’ve been getting this on-off, on-off nonsense for too long. It’s via fight politics, it’s via injuries, via just life, it does happen. It’s God’s plan, it’s all God so I accept and understand it, but I’m excited and I’m hopeful that I can get a nice consecutive run of bouts."

Conor McGregor is gearing up for his MMA return

Conor McGregor has been out of action for quite some time. The Irishman's last fight took place at UFC 264 in July 2021. That night, 'The Notorious' took on Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight. The contest ended on an unfortunate note as McGregor suffered a brutal leg injury in the opening round of the fight.

McGregor recently took up coaching duty for the upcoming season of 'The Ultimate Fighter' against Michael Chandler. The two are expected to share the octagon later this year. Considering the hype surrounding Mcgregor's return, the clash between him and Chandler could prove to be the biggest UFC event of the year.
