Rafael dos Anjos, who competes in the lightweight and welterweight divisions in the UFC, has a promotional record of 20-12 and an overall MMA record of 31-14. The Brazilian fighter has five career wins by knockout and 10 submission victories on his record.

Although Rafael dos Anjos competes at welterweight, he is currently unranked in the division. However, he is ranked No.7 in the UFC lightweight division. He will make his 33rd promotional appearance against Bryan Barberena in a welterweight bout at UFC on ESPN 42.

Rafael dos Anjos last fought against Rafael Fiziev at UFC on ESPN 39. The former UFC lightweight champion fought the Azerbaijani in a back-and-forth battle but was knocked out in the fifth round.

The Brazilian native has been fighting in the premier MMA promotion since 2008 and made his debut against Jeremy Stephens in a lightweight bout at UFC 91. He lost his promotional debut via knockout in the third round.

The former UFC lightweight champion used to train at Kings MMA under head trainer Rafael Cordeiro but left the camp after his title loss to Eddie Alvarez at UFC Fight Night 90.

He has since trained with famed MMA and boxing coach Jason Parillo and switches his training between Evolve MMA in Singapore and Team RDA in California. He is known for his Muay Thai-heavy striking and is a high-level black belt under Aldo 'Caveirinha' Januário.

Rafael dos Anjos' beef with Conor McGregor

At the UFC Go Big press conference in 2015, Conor McGregor went after Rafael dos Anjos, with 'The Notorious' using his famous "red panty night" line. The Brazilian couldn't come up with a definitive come-back and even seemed to acknowledge the Irishman's wit. Here's what McGregor said:

"When you sign to fight me, it's a celebration. You ring back home, you ring your wife: 'Baby, we done it. We're rich, baby. Conor McGregor made us rich. Break out the red panties. We're rich, baby."

Rafael dos Anjos was the lightweight champion when Conor McGregor won his first UFC title at featherweight. After McGregor's infamous win at UFC 194, the former featherweight champion decided to move up a weight class and go after the lightweight title. McGregor didn't hold back at the UFC 196 press conference, throwing scathing insults at dos Anjos.

The bout, however, never came to fruition as dos Anjos had to pull out of the bout due to an ankle injury. McGregor fought Nate Diaz instead at UFC 196 and had his first promotional loss via submission at the hands of the Stockton native.

It seems like the beef between dos Anjos and McGregor isn't over, as the two were seen trading insults backstage at UFC 264.

The former Brazilian champ said the following after his altercation:

"Whenever he wants, wherever, we can fight here. I don't f*****g care. [He's] trying to sneak behind me and size me up. F**k you, man."
