“Who were you fighting at 5-0 bro? - Bo Nickal claps back at Khamzat Chimaev's wrestling critique on his UFC 300 performance

Undefeated UFC middleweight Bo Nickal won his third straight fight inside the UFC octagon at UFC 300.

Nickal opened the main card at the milestone pay-per-view event against Cody Brundage. For the first time in his mixed martial arts career, he fought past the three-minute mark and entered the second round.

Although it took him longer to finish than ever before, ultimately, it was a convincing submission victory for Nickal. However, fellow undefeated middleweight Khamzat Chimaev was least impressed by his wrestling and took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to make his opinion known.

Nickal addressed the comments in an interview on The MMA Hour and questioned Chimaev's past record, stating that he was fighting at a higher level that the Russian-born fighter.

"Nah, it's good. I love it, I love it. I think he – the fact that he is recognizing it and yeah, I think he sees what's coming too. I think that it's good for everybody. Good for me, good for him, good for the sport, so we're gonna make that fight happen. In response to that, I would like to say; yo, who were you fighting at 5-0 bro? Some random dude in Europe. Like, I'm fighting in the UFC on UFC 300. So, there's levels to this."

Nickal went on to state that he might be the favorite in a matchup between the two.

"And I think that people just need to get to know me. The more they get to know me, the more they’re gonna realize like, 'Hey I'm that guy' and there's nothing anybody else can do about that. It wouldn't be surprising to me if when we fight, I'm like a -1000 favourite, the same as I have been in all these other fights."
