Who won the UFC fight last night (January 21, 2023)?

Glover Teixeira took on Jamahal Hill in a light heavyweight title affair in the main-event at UFC 283 in Brazil. The title was left vacant by Jiri Prochazka, who was forced to pull out of his scheduled UFC 282 clash against Teixeira due to a severe shoulder injury.

Contrary to expectations, the fight went the distance with Hill emphatically outclassing Teixeira en route to a unanimous decision win. 'Sweet Dreams' displayed incredible takedown defense, nullifying Teixeira's most lethal weapon.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian displayed incredible grit in continuing to fight despite being badly busted up right above his eyes. Teixeira bid adieu to the sport, hanging up his gloves in front of his home fans after a legendary career spanning over two decades.

The co-main event of the night featured the first quadrilogy in UFC history between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. Moreno finally settled the rivalry with a left hook that shut his opponent's eye, rendering the Brazilian unfit to answer the bell for the fourth round. 'Deus da Guerra' complained of an eye poke although close-up footage confirmed that the shut eye was due to a punch.

Gilbert Burns cruised through Neil Magny to score a first-round submission win in the main card.

Meanwhile, Lauren Murphy's corner was criticized for not throwing the towel as 'Lucky' suffered a one-sided beatdown against Jessica Andrade. Johnny Walker set the tone for the main card with a brutal second-round KO of Paul Craig.
