Chael Sonnen recently weighed in on Francis Ngannou's potential UFC return. Ngannou exited the promotion earlier this year, failing to come to terms after contract negotiations spanning over a year.
'The Predator' has since claimed to be in talks with multiple MMA promotions in addition to plotting boxing matches against Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. Meanwhile, Dana White shut down any possibility of Ngannou returning to his promotion during the UFC 285 post-fight media scrum.
However, Chael Sonnen believes we shouldn't take the UFC president's comments at face value. According to 'The American Gangster', White shutting down Ngannou's potential return is another negotiating ploy. The 46-year-old said on his YouTube channel:
"I think that Francis can still, once he has the evidence he needs, go back to the UFC. That's what I think. Don't think you'll have to correct me and tell me, 'No Dana said they'll never talk to him.' Look, it's all a negotiation. Every time one guy is talking about it, that's all in the negotiation. So if Dana's still there telling you, 'No we're not interested, won't work with him', he's still negotiating."

BKFC president Dave Feldman recently labeled Ngannou's demands 'unrealistic' while talking about negotiations with the former UFC champ. Referring to Feldman's comments, Sonnen suggested that it's time for 'The Predator' to wake up and call back Dana White.
Francis Ngannou responds to Dana White shutting down potential UFC return
Francis Ngannou had initially demanded a clause in the renewal of his UFC contract that would allow him to compete in a crossover boxing fight. However, the contract negotiations eventually fell through due to multiple other demands from 'The Predator' regarding fighter pay, healthcare and sponsorship, etc.
While Dana White dismissed the idea of Ngannou potentially returning to the UFC, the Cameroonian isn't seemingly concerned about that. Responding to White's comments, the 36-year-old said:
"Hey, I don't care what Dana White say. That was my call, not his call. So, he has to make his own amends with that. I made my amends, I'm good so wish him to do the same." [3:32 - 3:45]
