Jiri Prochazka holds the opinion that Israel Adesanya can recapture the UFC middleweight championship from kickboxing rival Alex Pereira. 'BJP' has also detailed the road to redemption for Adesanya.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Schmo, Prochazka used his fight against Glover Teixeira as the perfect example for 'The Last Stylebender' to draw inspiration from:

"You [Israel Adesanya] have to go till the end. Like in my fights, my last fight. That was what [won] me the fight. You have to go till the last second."

Jiri Prochazka engaged in a five-round slugfest with Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. The Czech fighter bounced back from almost getting finished at the beginning of the fifth round to finishing the fight via a rear-naked choke submission in the closing moments of the fight.

The UFC light heavyweight champion pointed out that this has been a recurring pattern in UFC title fights this year. Leon Edwards pulled off a similar come-from-behind victory in his fight against Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. With that in mind, Prochazka added:

"This year [2022] there were three fights, three title fights, which ended in fifth round. So, you have to go till the end."

Jiri Prochazka shoots down idea of a potential fight against Israel Adesanya in the future

Israel Adesanya came up short in his efforts to capture the light heavyweight championship to earn double-champ status at UFC 259 against Jan Blachowicz. However, ahead of UFC 281, Adesanya claimed that the idea of competing in the division above is a lingering idea that he would want to pursue in the future.

Prochazka, who's the reigning champion of the 205-pound division, shares the same management as Adesanya. Paradigm Sports clients aren't too keen on fighting each other, which they confirmed in the UFC 281 pre-fight press conference.

Speaking to the media ahead of the recently concluded pay-per-view event, Prochazka claimed:

“I’m not interested in this fight [vs. Israel Adesanya] , because as we are sharing the same management and the people around [us]. [But] I respect him.”
