Former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang will be making his return to the circle in front of his home fans in Manila, Philippines at ONE on Prime Video 5.

'The Landslide' will face Brazil's Edson Marques on the lead card of the December 2 event.

Needless to say, 'The Landslide' is more than eager to perform in front of his countrymen as it's been over three years since he did so.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the former lightweight king explained what it feels like to fight in front of a Filipino crowd:

"What I like about fighting at MOA Arena, or in the Philippines in general, is that you can really feel the electricity from the capacity crowd. Philippine fans are knowledgeable about the fight game and when they watch an MMA fight, you just get this shot of adrenaline whenever they cheer or shout your name. Filipino fans bring a different kind of energy during fights, that’s why I’m excited that ONE Championship is back in Manila this December."

Eduard Folayang speaks the truth. Filipino fight fans are some of the most passionate and appreciative observers a fighter could ever get to perform in front of.

Whether they're with you or against you, they will make you hear and feel every bit of what they think of you a million-fold. And it doesn't matter if you're a hometown hero or a journeyman fighter, so long as you fight your heart out, they will respect and admire you just the same.

Eduard Folayang's teammate, ONE strawweight king Joshua Pacio, is also performing in Manila on December 3

Just 12 hours after Eduard Folayang fights at ONE on Prime Video 5, his teammate, ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio, will headline ONE 164 in Manila.

'The Passion' will make the fourth defense of his world title against the man who has been hunting him for more than a year now, Jarred 'The Monkey God' Brooks.

The bout will headline the event at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, which will be the first time Pacio will fight in his home country in over two years. In a separate interview with ONE Championship, 'The Passion' expressed his excitement for the December 3 event:

"I’m very, very excited for this fight. I’m even more excited now that ONE Championship is coming back to the Philippines after more than two years. The energy and excitement is just different in Manila, with the thousands of Filipino fans screaming in the stadium. It really gives us extra motivation to perform at our best. I’m very proud to be a Filipino and I want to make the Filipino fans proud."

Eduard Folayang and Joshua Pacio, together with a handful of their Team Lakay teammates, will get to showcase their skills once again in front of their countrymen on the weekend of December 2. Expect things to go into overdrive as the euphoric Filipino crowd will surely back their boys up once the circle doors close.
