UFC veteran reveals how he found out that Dana White's son adores him

It's not common for fans to find out who Dana White's son is a fan of in the promotion, but one UFC veteran revealed that he recently found out that the UFC President's son adores him.

While speaking with ESPN MMA, Kevin Lee told reporter Marc Raimondi that he was unaware that White's son was a fan of his. He mentioned that he found out after re-signing with the promotion and White called his son to let him know the news.

He said:

"Yeah, he called his son and told him I was back in...You know, a lot of the young dudes, they be on me. They like me, they like my personality, they like what's going on. So, yeah, that kinda added a little bit of extra fuel to the fire that I get to go out there and perform and put on for all these young dudes are looking up to me now." [6:02 - 6:24]

Lee mentioned that he had a great experience during his meeting with the promotion. He recalled finding out that White's son was a fan of his and feeling respected during the meeting to negotiate his return, saying:

"I didn't know that until that day either [Dana White's son being a fan], but I guess you could say that. The entire meeting was respect. I feel like they gave respect and I give it back." [6:36 - 6:48]

'The Motown Phenom' is excited about re-joining the promotion and has a lot that he still wants to accomplish. He is only 30-years-old and still in the prime of his career, so he has a lot to gain with his return to the octagon.

Kevin Lee explains reasoning for returning to the UFC instead of signing with the PFL

Kevin Lee opened up about why he decided to return to the UFC rather than signing with the PFL.

During an affromentioned interview with ESPN MMA, Lee mentioned the perception of the promotion and what comes with winning a championship as a major factor, saying:

"I feel like even if I would've won a PFL championship, in the back of my mind I'd still be thinking, 'Man, I didn't get the UFC championship. I didn't go out on my own terms in the UFC.' And that was something that appealed to me a little bit more."

'The Motown Phenom' confirmed that he will be competing at 170lbs going forward and believes that he'll reach a point where his career at lightweight won't even be remembered. He is confident that he can achieve success at welterweight, especially considering he is in the prime of his career.
