Does The First Descendant have login rewards?

With The First Descendant being a games-as-a-service title, it is not uncommon to expect gameplay incentives for partaking in the grind - especially due to its free-to-play nature. It is a looter-shooter after all, and with many of its elements tied behind a paywall, some leeway is due. That said, if you are expecting login rewards for playing the game, then prepare to be disappointed.

There are none to speak of as of now. Here's everything you need to know about potential rewards for playing the multiplayer third-person shooter co-op game.

Why are there no login rewards for The First Descendant?

That is just how the game is designed. Booting into the game will take you straight to the hub of Albion; there is not much to interact with on the home screen, showcasing the player's equipped Descendant. As such, there are no login rewards to speak of and there is no word from the developers on that front.

That said, the developers have offered rewards since the game's launch on PC and consoles. However, many of these have been "boosts" (such as increased EXP and Gold gain for a few days) as compensation for maintenance downtime. The only time any significant rewards were handed out was for the players who participated in the game's original beta test.

This includes costume pieces (such as headwear) and emotes. However, only a few players got these rewards, and those who never played the beta missed out.

The First Descendant boasts several cosmetics for various aspects, from character and weapon skins and colors to skins for the UI and name cards. While the Battle Pass does have some cosmetic rewards like weapon skins, sprays, and colors, most of the good stuff is tied behind the premium currency known as Caliber. You can purchase 250 Caliber for $5.

The lack of daily incentives for players to keep coming back to the grind on top of no way to purchase the higher-tier skins via in-game means could affect the game's longevity in the future. Whether or not this will be addressed by the developer remains to be seen.
