WATCH: Bikes unveiled for inaugural MotoE season
MotoE will arrive on the motorsport calendar in 2019 and fans got a glimpse of the bikes that will be used on Tuesday.
The bikes that will be used in the inaugural MotoE World Cup were unveiled at a launch event in Rome on Tuesday.
The MotoGP support series is set to launch in 2019 and will be the first fully electric motorcycle circuit racing series recognised by the sport's governing body, the FIM.
Eighteen bikes spread across 11 teams will contest the championship's first season, with the Energica Ego revealed as the series' bike of choice.
Carmelo Espeleta, CEO of promoter Dorna Sports, said: "Dorna, together with the FIM, are delighted to move ahead into the world of electric mobility - an option we consider a parallel path for the future."
