Alessio Sestu: A Brief Biography

Alessio Sestu is an Italian footballer who currently plays for Siena. He started his professional career at Serie C2 club South Tyrol, which he joined in a co-ownership deal. He has played for a number of clubs in Serie B and Serie C1. He joined Treviso in January 2003 appearing in a single match in a period of four years. Following this he was on loan with Cuttadella in 2005, Mantova in 2006 Salernitana in 2007, before he joined Avellino as a regular from 2007-2008. He made his Serie A debut on 14 September 2008 against Torino F.C.. He also played twice at 2008–09 Coppa Italia. On 1 September 2009, Sestu moved to Vicenza on free transfer. On 1 February 2010, he was signed on loan by Bari for the rest of the season. In August 2010 Sestu left for A.C. Siena in co-ownership deal for €525,000. To date, he has played in 41 matches and has score four goals.
