Arouna Kone

Arouna Koné is an Ivorian football striker who plays for Wigan Athletic in the Premier League. Koné's older brother, Bakari, is also a football forward player and represented the Ivorian national team. He began his career at Rio Sport and signed Lierse S.K. at the age of eighteen, where he became the team's top scorer player and moved to the Roda JC in the season 2004-05. Kone initially played with various teams in the following years though he played on loan spell at Hannover 96 and Levante , there he scored his first goal for the campaign in September 2011 but was rested for the final three games of the season due to a minor injury however, He then moved to Wigan Athletic on three-year contract for a reported fee of €3.5 million. Although Koné represented the Côte d'Ivoire under-20 team in the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, in the 2006 World Cup and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
