Chris Ciriello: A Brief Biography
Chris Ciriello is an Australian field hockey player who plays for the Victorian Vikings in the Australian Hockey League. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Men\'s Hockey Champions Trophy and at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He is trying to earn a spot on the national team squad so that he can represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Ciriello earned a hockey scholarship with the Victorian Institute of Sport in 2004 following which he became a member of Australia\'s U21 national team and competed at the qualifiers for the U21 Junior World Cup Oceania Qualifiers in New Zealand. In January 2008, Ciriello made his senior national team debut at the Five Nations men\'s hockey tournament in South Africa. In 2009 he represented the country on a tour of Europe, scoring a hat trick in the third match of the tour against England where Australia won 5–4. He took his game to the next level when he scored a goal at the 2010 Commonwealth Game In the gold medal match against India that Australia won 8–0. He along with his team represented Australia at the Men\'s Hockey event in the Summer Olympics 2012.
