Gurvinder Singh Chandi: A Brief Biography
Gurvinder Singh Chandi is an Indian hockey player who made his senior debut in the Australia 4-Nations in 2008, and then went on to win the silver at the 17th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia. He scored three goals on the Australia tour in 2008, where he played all the eight matches. Gurwinder was retained as a standby for the Punjab Gold Cup in 2009. He was part of the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup as well. In the Olympic qualifiers of 2012, Gurvinder Singh Chandi was red hot early on in the tournament for India and it was his goal assault that decimated the Singaporeans 15-1 in the opening fixture. Chandi was relatively quiet in the last few fixtures but his role in the middle was to keep the opposition defence alert all the time and he did just that. Gurwinder represented India in men\'s hockey during the 2012 London Olympics.
