Mark Knowles: A Brief Biography

Mark Knowles is an Australian field hockey player who is a member of the Australia men\'s national field hockey team. He also plays for the Queensland Blades in the Australian Hockey League. In 2006, Knowles represented Australia at the Azlan Shah tournament in Malaysia. In 2007 he competed in the Champions Trophy competition for Australia following it up with Dutch series in Canberra as part of the Kookaburras squad. In January 2008, he was a member of the senior national team that competed at the Five Nations men\'s hockey tournament in South Africa. He was part of the squad that took home a gold in the match against Germany that Australia won by a score of 5-3. In 2010, his team finished first at the Hockey Champions Trophy. In 2007, Knowles was honoured by being named the Young Player of the Year by the International Hockey Federation. He along with his team took part in the 2012 London Olympics winning a bronze medal to their credit.
