Nick Viergever is a professional dutch footballer, born on 3 August 1989 in Capelle aan den Ijssel, Netherlands.


Viergever plays for Ajax and Netherlands national team. He mainly plays in the centre back position but can also switch to left back and defensive midfield roles.


The dutchman has strong passing skills and has attributes similar of a midfielder he can block the ball easily and dribble better than most typical defenders.

Viergever started his footballing career as a youth at Sparta Rotterdam a Dutch professional football club.



Debut


Advancing through the youth ranks of Sparta Rotterdam, Viergever made his debut for the senior team on 10 May 2009. He Replaced Edwin van Bueren in the second half and the game was drawn 1-1.


In a friendly game, Viergever made his first appearance for Netherlands national team against Belgium on 7 May 2012. However Netherland lost 4-2 to them.


Rise to Glory


Viergever made thirty appearances in his time with Sparta. He moved to AZ Alkmaar a professional dutch club in 2010 summer transfer. He had 114 appearances and scored 5 goals.


Viergever signed for Ajax on 24 May 2014. He has 83 appearances for the dutch side and has scored on 6 occasions. One of the game changing goal he scored was against Schalke in the Europa League quarter finals.
