Over the years, the franchise has introduced many interesting characters. It didn't matter whether these characters had a long or short run in the franchise, each character added to the story and made it much more enjoyable for the audience.

Having said that, there are some characters in particular who have left a lasting impression on fans. They are so well intertwined with the narrative that it would be hard to imagine the franchise without them.

Dominic, Brian, Letty and 7 more characters who have helped make the Fast & Furious world exciting and amusing

1) Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel)

There would be no Fast & Furious franchise without Dominic since he is the glue who holds it all together. Yes, the audience love the exciting car races and stunt sequences, but he adds depth to why the crew do what they do - for family. His character may not be on the right side of the law, but his morals and principles make it easy for the audience to root for him.

2) Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker)

It is impossible to mention the Fast & Furious franchise without bringing up Brian O'Conner, who helped start it all. The audience was first introduced to him as a LAPD cop who goes undercover to bust Dom and his crew. However, his perspective changes when he spends time with the Toretto family and ends up falling in love with Mia. He eventually abandons the law to become a part of the family.

3) Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez)

There is a lot to love about Letty's character from Fast & Furious. She is loyal to her family and is an integral part of the team. However, what fans especially love about her is that she is tough as nails. There is little that can bring her down and even if it does, she will always find a way to bounce back.

4) Luke Hobbs (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson)

A United States Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent, Hobbs was initially tasked with a mission to bring down Toretto's crew but eventually reached an understanding with the family. Even though the fued between Vin Diesel and The Rock is known to all, the Fast & Furious team still manages to shoot and edit in a manner that doesn't take away from any of the characters.

5) Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham)

Han is one of the coolest characters in the Fast & Furious franchise. Although The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift released way back in 2006, fans can still remember the way he showed off his drifting skills to get a phone number. Moreover, he has a wise and mysterious aura around him that fans find intriguing.

7) Tej (Chris Ludacris Bridges)

Where would the Fast & Furious franchise be without the banter and bickering of Roman and Tej? Here, the duo really represent friendship goals. Even though they might not be polite or even nice to each other most of the time, it is obvious that they want the best for each other.

8) Roman Pearce (Tyrese)

Roman knows how to diffuse a tense situation, but that isn't the only reason why fans love him. The best thing about him is that he is relatable. Additionally, Roman is constantly doubtful of the over-the-top plans they make, but he still manages to pull them off making him an integral part of the crew.

9) Cipher (Charlize Theron)

It is always refreshing to have a woman play the role of a clever and intimidating villain in action movies because the audience is often used to men playing the bad guys. Charlize Theron does a great job of playing Cipher in Fast & Furious. She is not only a master hacker but an expert manipulator, making her one of the most dangerous and unpredictable villains in the franchise.

10) Gisele (Gal Gadot)

In terms of interesting backstories, Gisele's is one of the best in the Fast & Furious franchise. A former Mossad agent, she worked with Braga, head of one of Mexico's biggest cartels, for a short while. Then she teamed up with Dom and his team for the bank heist in Rio.

The chemistry between her and Han was explosive, and even though she ended up sacrificing herself, fans are hoping that she will "rise from the dead" one day, much like Letty.

Over the years, the Fast & Furious franchise has introduced many great characters but these ten iconic characters will always have a special place in the hearts of fans.
