That being said, as season 4 of For All Mankind comes to an end, it has left some questions, such as why so many North Koreans were smuggled into Happy Valley. Delving deeper into season 4, let’s explore its ending.

Season 4 episode 10 of For All Mankind showcases Lee Jung-Gil’s wife, Moon Yeong, smuggled into Happy Valley on Mars. Following that, the most anticipated moment in the series happens when we get to see Moon meet Lee. Both break into tears as they arrive at their new home. However, she is not alone on Mars; along with her, many North Koreans also arrive on the Red Planet.

The reason for Moon’s arrival on Mars was plotted in season 3 and finally, in season 4, all the events set around her and Lee finally pay off. However, there is no proper explanation regarding why so many North Koreans wanted to go to Happy Valley.

But if we look at the details, the show has subtly answered that. Several other North Koreans left their nation in hopes of a happy life on Mars. Now, they are building a society free of government persecution and boundaries, and along with them, Lee and Moon are also there, calling the Red Planet their home.

That’s why so many North Koreans were smuggled into Happy Valley. Thanks to Lee’s work in the Goldilocks heist, Dev Ayesa funded the operation.

Besides this, there is also a time jump in the For All Mankind season 4 ending. The last episode shows Dev looking at the Goldilocks asteroid in 2012. Given the timeline of the show, set in 2003, this event takes place nine years after the events of season 4. Though this isn’t new in the series, there is a tradition in the show where the season finale has a time jump.

This hints that the events of season 5 will likely take place in 2012, possibly centered on the space program’s next generation.

The season 4 finale of For All Mankind provided everything to the fans, from Danielle Poole almost losing her life to the riot to Palmer James and Samantha Massey’s fight. All of this provided an exciting ending to season 4. The conclusion of this season of For All Mankind lacked drama but offered everything that it had packed for fans.
