What happens in Stranger Things season 4?
Stranger Things 4 begins eight months after the events of the third season, set in March 1986. The 4th season is split between 3 different plot lines. The first plotline takes place in Hawkins, where numerous teenagers are killed in mysterious ways. Eddie Munson, the leader of a Dungeons & Dragons group called the Hellfire Club, becomes the prime murder suspect. The Hawkins High School basketball team, led by Jason Carver, are in pursuit of Munson.
They believe that Eddie killed Carver’s girlfriend, Chrissy Cunningham, using satanic powers. Dustin, Max, Lucas, Erica, Nancy, Steve, Robin, and Eddie investigate and discover that the murders were carried out by a powerful being that lives in the Upside Down, who is later dubbed as “Vecna”.
The second plot line showcases Mike visiting Eleven, Will, and Jonathan at their new home in California. On account of the events in Hawkins and the imminent danger to her friends, Eleven goes with Dr. Martin Brenner and Sam Owens to a secret facility to help her regain her powers, while Mike, Will, Jonathan, and his friend Argyle try to track her down.
The third plot line follows Joyce and Murray Bauman as they learn that Hopper may still be alive and are told to bring a sum of money to arrange for his transfer. Meanwhile, Hopper is held in a Soviet prison camp in Kamchatka, where he and the other inmates are forced to battle a Demogorgon that the Russians have captured.
