Loverly Runner, the new K-drama on tvN, starring Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon, was officially announced on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The highly awaited drama explores the concepts of time travel and loyalty as Im Sol (Kim Hye-yoon) tries to change destiny and save her hero, Ryu Sun-jae (Byeon Woo-seok).
The series pledges to be a gripping exploration of reinstating fates, thanks to its captivating plot and outstanding ensemble.
Based on the popular webtoon, The Best of Tomorrow, the drama adaption is about a prominent star who passes away in an awful catastrophe and his female fan who goes back in time to alter his destiny. A sci-fi time aspect is woven into the tale along with an intense love story.
Cast of the upcoming tvN drama—Loverly Runner
Loverly Runner is set to recount a captivating story of love, tenacity, and the human spirit's resiliency despite the course of time as the plot develops. Although the specific release date and time for the drama are yet to be disclosed, it is slated for premiere in 2024.
Byeon Woo-seok, famous for his role in Strong Girl Nam-soon, is slated to play the lead character of Ryu Sun-jae, who passes away in a terrible accident. The Extraordinary You actress, Kim Hye-yoon, will play the major role of Im Sol, a devoted fan of Sun-jae.
The main character in the drama, Ryu Sun-jae, is Korea's biggest star—a well-known South Korean celebrity who is appreciated for his remarkable appearance, talent, and charisma.
A sad outcome results from Ryu Sun-jae's disillusionment with the profession despite having an excellent career. Im Sol starts a path of transformation for both characters when she abruptly travels back in time to when Ryu Sun-jae was just 19 years old.
The drama seems to be a mix of heartwarming passages and gripping turns as Im Sol works through the difficulties of changing her idol's destiny and giving her a sense of optimism again. Loverly Runner is authored by Lee Si-eun, who is known for her past works, such as True Beauty and Top Star U-Back.
In addition to Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon, the cast adds N.Flying's Lee Seung-hyub, who portrays Baek In-hyuk. Lee Seung-hyub's character is the leader and guitarist of Eclipse, a band in the upcoming drama. Hyuk of OMEGA X enters as Jay, the group's youngest member.

Byeon Woo-seok has landed his first major role as a protagonist on television alongside Kim Hye-yoon in the upcoming tvN time-slip fantasy drama, Loverly Runner. Prior to this, the actor also starred in the Korean film, 20th Century Girl, opposite Kim Yoo-jung in 2022 and in the popular series, Strong Girl Nam-soon, which is a spin-off of the original drama, Strong Girl Bong-soon.
In addition, Byeon Woo-shik had another notable opportunity in 2022 to play the major role in the movie, Soulmate, starring alongside Kim Da-mi—who is known for Itaewon Class and Our Beloved Summer—and Jeon So-nee as Hum Jin-woo. The film was released in cinemas in 2023.
Before graduating from college in February 2019, Kim Hye-yoon started attending auditions for more prominent parts and landed a role in the famous drama, Sky Castle, on JTBC.
The huge popularity of the series, together with her unusual character as an ambitious and unpleasant yet ladylike high school student, propelled her to prominence and awarded her the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards for Best New Actress.
